DISPONIBILITY REQUEST

Dear mountaineer, the Angeli Family welcomes you to the refuge F.F. Tuckett and Q. Sella, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites.

The SAT (society of the Tridentine Mountaineers) he built his own refuge at the foot of the lower Castelletto between 1904 and 1905 and inaugurated it in August 1906, symbolically titled to the first president of the Italian Alpine Club, Quintino Sella, to which he had also been dedicated a top of the group in 1884 on the occasion of his disappearance.

At the same time, in the race with the SAT, the German climbers of the Berlin section DAV began the construction of their refuge, about twenty meters from the SAT, and inaugurated it a week after the one dedicated to Q. Sella, calling it Tuckettpasshütte in honor of Francis Fox Tuckett, a mountaineer, pioneer and English explorer, particularly active in the Trentino mountains. He was the first to document, in 1871, the passage of the pass over the Vedretta di Vallesinella, which today bears its name (Bocca di Tuckett).

The two buildings suffered great damage during the First World War.

In 1920 the SAT, to which in the meantime had been entrusted by the German Alpine Society also the Tuckett refuge, restored the two buildings that have maintained over the years their original plans.

On the occasion of the centenary, in 2006, to the two refuges and to this place the value of monument to peace and friendship among peoples by SAT and DAV was conferred.

In 2013 and then in 2020, further renovations and extensions to the floor have made the structure even more efficient.
